The White Coat Ceremony!

Yesterday was a special day for us. Renny was a part of the traditional "White Coat Ceremony" that every 1st term medical student attends. It is sort of a welcoming into the medical field and a representation that all your hard work has paid off! YAHOO!!! I was so proud of him on that stage. His smile made me so happy. I just want to tell him that I always knew he could do it and that I love him with all that I have.

Playing around with Fabrics!

I have just found out how fun it can be to use regular fabrics as backgrounds! I love it! Here are a couple of examples of different fabrics that I have been playing with!

Lexi and Zane!

We have made some new friends on the island! Zane, Lexi and Zane Jr. arrived in Grenada not long ago! Sara Weir and I recently took some pictures using some different fabrics I brought back from Utah! It was fun to experiment with new backgrounds, plus little Zane has the most beautiful blue eyes and porcelain skin.

Little Lucy & Sweet Anna.

Since we have been back in Grenada, one of Gabe's new best friends has been Anna. She loves to come over and play toys with Gabe! So the other day my good friend Sara Johnson, let me take some pictures of Anna and her new baby, Lucy. They are both adorable little girls! I loved having the chance to practice on their cute little faces.

Going Home..

Today I have been packing and packing getting ready for our plane ride home tomorrow (actually Tuesday @ 12:01am). We are keeping our fingers crossed that Gabe sleeps through the first plane ride to New York. You might want to cross yours too. he. Knowing Gabe, she will probably do the opposite of what you think she might! Anyways, we are really excited to get back to our "home" away from home. I am really excited to see all my friends and to be back in my own place. It has been really nice living with family too. We are really going to miss them, as well as their wonderful backyard and all the space and fun things it has to offer. Grenada, here we come,...again.

Just for Cheepy.

I thought I would post a little something for our friend "Cheepy" (named by Gabe). Ren found him on the side of the road on Monday and decided to bring him home. He was such a cute little guy and actually very tame. He loved to sit on your finger and yesterday he hopped onto my shoulder. I felt like a pirate. Sometimes, he would think our fingers were worms and open his little mouth, like in the picture above. He flew away yesterday and we miss his little cheap, cheap.

Tag, your it!

Gabe was tagged by her cousin, Bailey!

She has always been such a Daddy's girl!

Her first time getting hit by the sprinkler and cold water.

The first time we went to the ocean, we couldn't keep Gabe away from the water! She would just run straight to it over and over and over.

This picture was taken just after a meltdown.....you can still see the little tears in her eyes. What a cute, little bug. (Gotta love that tummy.)

This was Gabe's mad face when she was little. It made me laugh everytime.

Eating one of her favorite foods,...tomatoes. Mommy was very happy about her choice of food!

Gabe (a.k.a. Chipawah, Pumpkin head, Bug, Boosha (don't ask me why we have given her some of these nicknames, they just fit.)

Eye color: blue- Who would have known.

Hair color: brown

Fav movie: "Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus" or Swan Lake (yes, the real ballet version).

Fav TV show: "Backyardigans" or "The Pink Panther" (gotta love Boomerang)

Fav book: "Disney Princesses" We ordered her a book that incorporated her name in the Disney princess stories and she would have us read it to her every night if we let her.

Fav place to go: Poppa's house and to see cousin Finn.

Fav restaurant: Anywhere with chicken nuggets.

Fav food: Again chicken nuggets, ice cream and peas.

Fav candy: Anything with chocolate

Fav color: Green or Pink.

Fav song: "Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam."

Fav game: Beehive (She got it for her Birthday; it's where you put little bees in a hive and try not to make then drop down the tree trunk when you pull out the tree leaves)

Fav cereal: "Honey Nut Cherrios"

When I was looking through all the different pictures I have of Gabe I honestly was laughing one minute, crying the next, smiling my face off and enjoying every minute of it! Gabe is such a beautiful little gal. She has always been very bright and lately her creative side has really been taking off. She loves to explain stories to us and tell us in very precise detail, all these crazy things that come out of her little imagintation! I love it! I think this is a really fun age.

Gabe has been developing a talent in drawing, coloring & painting lately.
She loves to take sidewalk chalk and draw all over everything. Sometimes, even cars. Don't tell my parents I said that though,...(don't worry it washes off easy). Anyways, for the past couple of mornings, she has woken up and immediately put on her ballet shoes, pink leotard and tutu she got for her birthday. She loves to go dance upstairs on her tiptoes (I am going to post some pictures soon).

Gabe has such a loving heart for any type of animal as well. Right now, we are nursing a little bird back to health and Gabe loves to help feed him and put him on her finger. She also loves dogs and cats and any other living thing, including worms. Crazy, I know. She has been having a wonderful summer in Utah and has found a new love in playing with all her fun friends. She always tells me, "Mommy, can I go to Shelly's house?" That is our neighbor who has three of the most darling little girls ever! Gabe loves to go play with them and see Shelly as well.

I know Gabe will really go somewhere in her life, because she has always been very independant. She is one of those kids that doesn't mind time by herself. She has always been able to use her mind and play on her own just fine. Sometimes, I think that she is so old now, and I can't believe how fast the time has flown! I hope I can really remember to grasp each moment and not let them slip by without me noticing. I really am so grateful, to have been blessed with such a precious little spirit!

The Harley's.

So there is this building that is right off the freeway in Lindon, Utah that is one of the coolest buildings I have ever seen. If you skim over it, you might just think it is a huge, old building with rusted metal slates and old watertowers, but if you look just a second longer, you will realize it is the new Harley Davidson Building. The majority of the building is made from recycled parts from the Geneva Steel Plant. I asked Ren to come with me to it, so I could scout it out and maybe even ask a biker if I could take his picture. I didn't find any willing bikers, but there were some pretty cool bikes and logos to snap some shots of. Here are just a couple of pictures from my trip over there. I have put some more on my photoblog if you want to check them out. (Ren said I can get a Harley,....one day.)

Bear Lake fun!

We took the kids and headed up to Bear Lake for the 24th of July! I have never been there before so I was pretty excited to go. We rented a boat for a day and tried to wakeboard, slalem & tube! Of course, we also had to get a famous raspberry shake, which I am actually craving right now. It was so much fun! I tried to put the pictures in order of how it went. My favorite is the look on my Mom's face before she gets in the water. She had been warning us that she was going to show us all up.....the next picture describes what really happened. Good thing, my Dad was there to hold up that flag so many times!
